Natural v/s Artificial Tanning methods
Beauty Products:
The basic, even the sole difference that people usually make out between natural and artificial forms of skin Tanning is that that getting a natural suntan exposes the skin to both UVA and UVB rays. Scientific research has proven that UVB rays are more aggressive, and hence more harmful to the skin, as compared to UVA rays. In fact, due to the depletion of the Ozone layer, natural sun rays, which consist of both UVA and UVB, are getting more aggressive day by day. Therefore, many people now prefer artificial to natural tans.
However, it is worth noting that artificial Tanning equally comprises certain risks and hazards. This article attempts to demystify the various methods that you can go for to get yourself a great tan. To begin with, most of you readers are already aware that there are two ways to fake a tan. The first method is by using self-tan products that contain Di Hydroxy Acetone (DHA), a chemical which the oxidizes the superficial cells of the epidermis, thus giving the skin a tanned complexion. The second one is to expose yourself under artificially set UVA rays at a beauty parlor or clinic.
The first method may at times result in uneven skin tones if a person fails to spread the Tanning product evenly all over the skin. Many people also feel that they are not competent to choose the best self-tan product, as there is a whole panoply of these products available on the market. In fact, some of these products are not dermatologically tested or hypoallergenic, and some may even contain fragrance that can provoke allergies. Therefore, many people would prefer to seek the assistance of professional beauty practitioners at saloons and clinics to get themselves a nice, sexy tan.
Yet you should know that this means of Tanning actually works by exposing your skin to intense UVA rays that are between three and six times stronger than what is present in solar light. Besides, recent researches have shown that UVAS that were once believed to be less dangerous than UVBS, also have some carcinogenic properties. It is even wrong to believe that artificial tanning under UVA rays does not cause skin burn. In fact, twenty minutes of exposure to intense UVA rays is equivalent to two hours at the beach under the mid-day sun. Some people even believe that getting a fake tan prior to intense exposure to the sun offers some form of protection to the skin. But dermatologists are of opinion that the artificial tan does not really offer any form of protection against the possible sunburns during vacations.
On a conclusive note, we would also like to put in the picture that people having a pale complexion, light-colored eyes and blond hair - in short those who are more inclined towards Tanning ?are precisely those who "tan very badly". These people are more likely to suffer from skin burns as a result of a tan, either under natural or artificial conditions.
