The Emo Generation- Who is responsible?

It is very sad to see the teenagers having everything in their reach are still leading a unhappy life. They are preoccupied with all that is connected to death and unhappiness. Though they have access to the information like never before, they have more "freedom" like ever before them but still they are depressed and haunted by suicide thoughts.

Teenagers constitute the generation who has most of any other generation but they are simply misusing their freedom. They are usually seen at the Mall, at school and on the streets and parks dressed in black, having weird haircuts and having a depressive look. They also love body piercing and some of them are cutting their body with shaving blades. Most of them are depressed and antisocial and they love to listen to a certain type of music and put dress and wear jewelry having skeleton shape.

Isn't it sarcastic when parents are more civilized then ever before being more free and lenient to their children and they are seeing the life with such a pessimistic perception? It is true that everyone at times undergo emotional crisis and it is natural but why is this generation in particular marked as an emo generation? Emotional breakdown happened with every individual in past generation also and it is also true that no one will spared from such breakdown but keeping oneself completely covered with the blanket of negative perception was not observed earlier as it is seen today.

It is the age for them to enjoy life. Then what could be the real reason behind such drastic change? Is it because people are becoming more materialistic? Or is it because we mature them before their time comes and tell them money is everything? Or is it because parents do not have time for their children as they are busy earning money aiming to have secure future for them as well as for their children? Or is it because of the fast pace world? Survey shows that today love and understanding has got replaced with money and other items of luxuries. They are being taught to measure success in money and position and that is the only way to happiness. It is a big joke that parents in the process of bringing happiness to their children snatches away the means of happiness unknowingly. Therefore it is of utmost importance for the parents as well as the teenagers to focus on the clear road ahead. It should be remembered that time and tide waits for none once missed will be lost forever.
